"In the human body, everything is connected. You should never look at a condition in isolation. One decides for the role as a doctor, but not for the role as a patient. I experienced that firsthand. I was 15 when a car driver on a moped cut me off and I was seriously injured and taken to the hospital. Several months of hospitalization followed - a time that had a great impact on me. I am grateful for the competent and heartfelt care that brought me back to life. Based on this experience, I decided to pursue a career in medicine as well.

To finance my studies, I worked as a car mechanic for a long time. That shaped my entire understanding of orthopedics. Laws of physics apply everywhere - whether it's a car, a high heel or a knee.I have never forgotten the time I spent in the clinic during my many years as an orthopedic surgeon. You get a whole different approach to patients once you've been on the patient side yourself. That's why I started my own clinic, to make the stay as comfortable as possible for my patients and to have the chance to really help people in many cases. That's what I became a doctor for.

I am happy to now be able to fruitfully contribute the knowledge I have acquired in over 30 years in sports medicine and orthopedics to the company Maison Baum , which I run together with my son, and thus help even more people.
